Macquarie Life Teams up With Teachers

Macquarie Life has announced an agreement with Teachers Health Fund to make available the insurer’s Macquarie Life Active product to the health funds’ 200,000 members.

This agreement will see Macquarie Life Active offered as the exclusive life insurance cover option marketed by Teachers Health to its members.

Macquarie believes the nature of the Macquarie Life Active product solution, which offers a ‘blended’ or ‘tiered’ benefit structure on medical events that are intended to reflect financial needs, was seen by Teachers Health as a complement to the health insurance cover offered by the health fund:

Macquarie Life Active can be a natural complement to health insurance cover…

“Intuitively, Macquarie Life Active can be a natural complement to health insurance cover and means that for end clients, like those in the Teachers Health Fund, they can understand what they are getting from their policy and the real benefit to them and their families,” said Head of Macquarie Life, Justin Delaney, who asserts Macquarie Life Active, because of its tiered benefit structure based on the outcome of a medical event, is a new category of life insurance.

Commenting on why Teachers Health Fund has partnered with Macquarie Life Active, CEO of Teachers Health Fund, Brad Joyce, said it provides a unique life insurance solution to its members:

“Our priority at Teachers Health Fund is to provide our members with solutions that meet their needs and those of their families and we found that Macquarie Life Active provided a unique offering,” said Mr Joyce.
