Midwinter’s Financial Advice Software has been rated first in overall satisfaction by financial planners who use its software, according to Investment Trends in its recently-released 2010 Planner Technology Report.

Midwinter’s Insurance Comparator took out the risk research and data accuracy categories, the second consecutive year in which Midwinter’s risk research has been rated number one by financial advisers and risk specialists using its software.

The research and technology firm also received the highest adviser satisfaction rating for its training and support service elements.

“We are extremely pleased in being the number one rated financial planning software in the market in average overall satisfaction for the second consecutive year as voted by financial advisers,” said Julian Plummer, Midwinter’s Managing Director.  “Our focus on a specialist, best-of-breed approach and our responsiveness to the demands from our financial adviser clients is obviously paying off,” he added.

The report found that Midwinter’s Financial Advice Software had the highest average user ratings on 20 out of 25 service elements, and its best feature, according to financial planners using the software, was “ease of use”.

“It is unusual to see a service provider figure so strongly across all service elements covered in an Investment Trends Report,” Mr Plummer said.  “Financial advisers are always the best judge of what is best for their practice, and as such this is the metric on which we want to be tested.”

“We have also felt that the Report has provided good insight into the financial planning software market and looking at the way Investment Trends breaks down the impact and costs on practices, it provides dealer groups with the ability to make more informed decisions,” said Mr Plummer.
