MLC has launched a training program to assist professionals who are seeking a career in financial advice.
The program, called MLC Pathway to Advice Excellence, is aimed at people already working in financial services, who are interested in making the transition to financial planning.
During the course participants will hear from established advisers and learn how to grow their confidence in building client relationships. MLC says the course is designed to assist participants:
- Develop and implement financial strategies using a six step financial planning process
- Confidently engage clients and influence outcomes
- Understand what it takes to be a successful adviser

“For a number of years we have been running the MLC Advice Business School, which teaches existing planners how to start up their own business,” said Peter Greenaway, MLC General Manager of Business Development. “However we were increasingly being approached by professionals seeking a program teaching them how to start out as a financial planner,” he said.
“Across the NAB network we have more than 450 advice businesses and 1500 advisers. We’ve got the experience to be able to support and develop people into what can be a fantastically rewarding career. And while there are no guarantees, we may even be able to offer them a job at the end,” said Mr Greenaway.
The four day program will be run in both Sydney and Melbourne.
