The contribution and influence of Australian advisers within the global MDRT organisation continues to grow, where Australians are making their mark at the 2016 MDRT Annual Meeting across a number of different spheres.
The Aussie contingent at this year’s Annual Meeting, which is being held this week in Vancouver, totals well over 100, and we understand more of their peers missed the opportunity to attend this outstanding annual event due to the capacity of 11,500+ qualifying adviser registrations having been reached earlier in the year.
In addition to a strong delegate representation, Australian MDRT members are making their presence felt on a diverse selection of MDRT regional and global committees, where they contribute as members and/or as Chairs of these committees. These advisers, all of whom offer their time in a voluntary capacity, are bringing the wealth of their own experiences to a global organisation whose ultimate purpose is to help all advisers be better advisers for the purpose of serving the best interests of their community of present and future clients.
Many Australians, mostly current advisers, are sharing their experiences with their peers at this year’s Annual Meeting at a range of format styles that extend from the huge Main Platform to the more intimate Connexion Zone presentations. Australian speakers, some of whom are delivering multiple presentations, include:
Angus McQueen The Future of Your Business
Guy Mankey: Three Great Ideas From Down Under
Russell Collins: A Lifetime of Effort and Skills That Succeed In the Untapped Business Insurance Market
Ashley Pattinson: Outlook to Outsourcing: The Compliant Productivity Ninja
Jenny Brown: Technology Zone
Paul Mollica: Illustrated Advice: Show Your Client What Good Advice Looks Like
Adam McCann: Who Are You and Why Should They Care?
Godfrey Phillips: Having a Health Line of Credit for Critical Illness
John Maher: You Never Know What’s Around the Corner
Mick Colliss: Author, writer, rugby commentator
While professional improvement is an ongoing objective for all MDRT members, one of the great strengths of this organisation is its emphasis that business success cannot exist in isolation to the rest of the adviser’s life. This ‘whole person’ message is a fundamental mantra that differentiates MDRT from other adviser associations.
