“The need for Child Cover can be a difficult topic to broach with clients, but it’s an important conversation to have, knowing the financial impact a serious childhood illness or injury can have on a family,” the message stated.

Under the conditions of the offer a client is eligible to receive a voucher for Fitbit Alta fitness device if they apply for a new OneCare Policy that includes Child Cover between 23 May and 31 August, with the policy coming into force by 31 October.

According to the marketing material each policy owner and each child covered by the policy who is aged 13 to 15 at the time the cover is applied for, will be eligible for the device.

While the offer is restricted to children within a certain age range the OneCare Child Cover has a minimum entry age for children of 2 years and a maximum entry age of 15 years, with the cover expiring at age 21 at which time it can be converted to an adult Life and Trauma Cover policy without medical checks.

  1. Insurers really do not understand how a risk writer operates
We don’t need to offer inducements before raising the issue of Child Cover. On the other hand, many of our friends on the dark side ( investments ) are scared of it because to them it looks like the ambulance is being backed up
Then there is the tricky question about who has access to the data from the Fitbit !
    Vive la difference !
