Zurich Financial Services Australia has announced the details of the Zurich Life & Investments distribution leadership team.
A statement from the insurer says the team has been re-appointed following Zurich’s acquisition of OnePath Life from ANZ in June 2019, “an acquisition which propelled Zurich to become Australia’s largest retail life insurer”. See: Zurich Completes OnePath Acquisition.
The company says the team, reporting to Chief Distribution Officer, Kristine Brooks, demonstrates strength in depth across the leadership team roles:
- Nathan Taggart as Head of Sales
- Phil Gould as Head of Distribution Analytics & Governance
- Mel Ware as Head of Marketing & Brand
- Tim Atley as Head of Strategic Account Management
The statement says the combined leadership team will be responsible for the delivery of Zurich’s multi-proposition strategy to the Australian market.
“These key roles will drive Zurich and OnePath service and support whilst supporting core strategic partnerships and relationships across the Zurich and OnePath Life brands,” it says.
The insurer adds that as Head of Strategic Account Management, Life Risk, Tim Atley is responsible for managing key dealer group partnerships across the Zurich and OnePath life insurance portfolios.
“The Head of Strategic Account Management is a key role for Zurich in that it considers how Zurich and OnePath continue to service and support its core strategic partnerships and licensee relationships across the Zurich and OnePath Life brands.”
It says too that Mel Ware is an experienced industry marketing professional, and as Head of Marketing & Brand “leads an inter-disciplined team focused on delivering our multi-proposition approach to the market including both retail propositions, Group and investments”.
The statement adds that Zurich has also confirmed appointments to its National Sales leadership team, reporting into Nathan Taggart.
“With responsibility for delivering a consistent and high-quality adviser experience these appointments include Rob McNeill, State Manager NSW/ACT; Reece Foster, State Manager QLD; Vilma Attanasio, State Manager SA/WA and the recent addition of Matthew Backman as State Manager VIC/TAS, who has joined from MLC in Victoria.
Brooks says in the statement that Zurich’s continued strategy of organic and acquisition-based growth has led it to become Australia’s largest life insurer. “It’s a position we intend to continually earn over the long-term, through the strength of our partnerships and our advocacy for industry best-practice, as well as through the quality of the Zurich and OnePath brands and product sets,” she says.
