PPS Mutual has opened applications for its second annual Risk Practice of the Year Award, with the 2027 award expanded to allow nominations from across the wider advice industry.
In addition to advisers, clients can now nominate their adviser’s risk practice, while colleagues and industry partners are also invited to nominate practices they believe deserve recognition.
The winning practice will be invited to take part in a Q&A panel session at Riskinfocus 27 and will receive a marketing support package designed to help promote and grow its business.
All entrants will also receive access to an exclusive online workshop hosted by Vital Business Partners’ Head of Consulting, Sue Viskovic, focusing on the characteristics of high-performing risk advice firms and practical business improvement strategies.
The judging panel includes:
- Angus Woods, MD, Adviser Ratings
- Sue Laing, Technical Director, The Risk Store Consulting
- Peter Sobels, Publisher Riskinfo
- Marc Fabris, Digital Consultant and Founder, Risk Hub
- Sue Viskovic, Head of Consulting, Vital Business Partners
The award’s inaugural winner, Mark Everingham, MD, Personal Risk Professionals, said the recognition of winning 2026 Risk Practice of the Year had strengthened the firm’s standing with its partners.

“It is a proud proof point for them when they’re talking to their clients that they’re referring to the practice of the year, not just another life insurance firm,” he said.
Everingham said the application process had also delivered valuable insights into his business.
“Our goal was to make the finals, which we were very proud to do,” he said. “The insights you gain about your business through that process are really quite amazing.”
Applications close 14 September 2026. Click here for further information.
