AMP Committing to Independent Adviser Market

0

AMP is taking another step in its push into the IFA market when it conducts its first series of  seminars later this month designed specifically for the independent financial adviser.

Under the banner of ‘Client Connectivity’, there will be seminars held in each mainland state capital, where the insurer’s intention is to provide advisers with ‘…invaluable skills to connect with their clients about risk insurance.’

The seminars will feature AMP’s new Head of Underwriting, Marcello Bertasso (see: Senior AMP Underwriting Appointments), as well as well-known AMP commentator, Chris Kirby, and senior industry life broker, Russell Collins.

These seminars are an indicator of AMP delivering on its stated goal of pushing into the IFA and alliances market, which forms part of the company’s broader growth strategy.

Spearheading this push is  AMP Director of IFA and Alliances Distribution, Dan Powell.  Mr Powell was appointed to undertake this task in September 2009 (see previous story: AMP Targets IFA Market…).

Mr Powell said AMP is committed to supporting IFAs in highlighting the importance of risk insurance to their clients:

“Every day advisers are faced with the challenge of instilling the importance of risk insurance in a population where a ‘it won’t happen to me’ attitude is common.”

“Most people are focused on how to build their wealth, but might not take this next step in protecting it, in the event a health issue arises. We hope these seminars will provide IFAs with some powerful skills to break through this mindset with their clients,” said Mr Powell.

AMP has also revealed its plans for more IFA seminars later this year as it continues its drive for increased market share through greater engagement with the independent financial adviser.
