The adviser community is starting the 2024 year with a total of 15,643 advisers, according to Wealth Data’s latest analysis.
The research firm’s Colin Williams says that in the period from 21 December, 2023 to 11 January, 2024, net adviser numbers were down by 24.
However, he says, that in the new year to date numbers are a positive, rising by 15.
“Calendar YTD for 2023 is showing a net loss of 173, a jump of 42 from our last reporting on December 21, 2023, when it was showing at minus 131.”
Williams notes that typically, the first weeks of January can be slow for reporting, but as the month progresses he expects to get a more complete picture of the final results for 2023.

Williams notes that ASIC will release its Financial Adviser register update later this week.
